The Pizza Principal

RI Docs is excited to present the international premiere of the documentary film, The Pizza Principal: After the unexpected popularity of his local pizza reviews, a pizza-obsessed vice principal from Coventry high school sets out to review 40 Rhode Island pizzerias in 30 days, and fulfill his dream of becoming a professional writer. This film, directed by Rhode Island native Kirk Benttinen takes you on a journey through the kitchens and dining rooms of mom and pop pizzerias all across Rhode Island, following Tim's journey and celebrating, the stories, people, and recipes behind some of the best pizza in the country. But it's more than a night out at the movies, it's a neighborhood-activation event. Before the show, present your ticket to participating bars and restaurants in Federal Hill for drink and food specials. The show will kick off with several of our RI Docs shorts, all films about Rhode Islanders and their remarkable lives. We'll have surprise performances from local artists, a Q & A after the film with the filmmaker and subjects from The Pizza Principal. After the show join us for a pizza after party in the neighborhood where the pizzerias from the film will be slinging pies and mingling with guests.
